How Positive People Placement works
PPP's business consists of temporary employment and placing people in permanent and seasonal jobs. The temporary work can last anywhere from a minimum of four hours to several days, weeks or even months. The permanent and seasonal placements we recruit are for various clients in the Bow Valley. Please refer to the Job Opportunities for more information.
The Job Offer:
After you fill out an Online Registration Form, you will be contacted to schedule a time to complete a safety orientation and employee contract. When opportunities arise that suit your skills and interests we will contact you to offer you the job. This usually happens either the afternoon before the workday or the morning of the workday. Jobs move very fast here at Positive People Placement!
The Daily "Willing Workers" List:
PPP keeps a DAILY "Willing Workers" list which you are welcome to join, either by coming into the office, submitting your name online, or phoning us in advance. Employees on the "Willing Workers" list are placed first because they are keen and available to work. You must be a registered PPP worker to be on the active Wants Work List.
Your Commitment:
After committing to a job, you are expected to meet us at the PPP office punctually (15 – 30 minutes before your start time). We will give you directions, organize a carpool, or drive you to the worksite, as required. The time you start work is the time that you arrive at the worksite. PPP does not tolerate workers who do not show up for scheduled work, who are late, or who behave poorly.
Our Commitment:
PPP will always act in a respectful and efficient manner when it comes to our employees. We assure you that:
- we will offer you appropriate work that matches your skills and interests
- we will compensate you fairly and in a timely fashion for the work you do
- we will only staff you in SAFE work environments and with reputable employer clients
- we will provide you with the necessary personal protective equipment, if required
- we will ensure that you have a way to get to work on your first day, in most cases you are expected to find your own transportation thereafter
The Compensation:
PPP compensates its employees with competitive wages which are paid weekly, every Tuesday. Wages are dependant on:
1. The type of work you engage in
2. The skills you possess
3. Your commitment level to your placement.
Each week, PPP adds 4% of salary for a well deserved holiday. After 240 hours of work, PPP will add a bonus of 3.6% to every cheque thereafter. "Construction Workers" are eligible to receive 9.6% from the first day worked. As your employer, PPP will make contributions to the Canadian Pension Plan, Employment Insurance and WCB. We also remit your portion of CPP & EI plus taxes owed to the government. T4 slips are issued every February.
Cheques and direct deposits are issued every Tuesday morning in the Canmore office. You must have submitted your SIGNED timesheet by Friday evening. Any hours worked on Saturday or Sunday may be included on Tuesday's pay as long as the timesheet is submitted promptly after work.
This means YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!
